Balian Houses
Balian Houses is a boutique hospitality project located in Tabanan, Bali. Set within a large site surrounded by mature trees, the project features a collection of private cabins designed to blend naturally into the landscape. Each cabin is elevated on stilts to follow the natural slope of the land, reducing environmental impact while creating a unique stay connected to nature. The master plan was carefully designed to offer privacy, comfort, and a smooth guest experience throughout the property.
our approach
Our goal was to create sustainable architecture that respects the land and enhances the guest experience. By preserving the existing topography and vegetation, the project maintains a strong connection to its natural surroundings while minimizing site disturbance.
The cabin interiors combine natural stone, local timber, and Indonesian materials to create warm and comfortable spaces. Inspired by Balinese design principles, the layouts encourage natural ventilation, airflow, and energy flow, helping keep the cabins cool while providing a relaxing and authentic Bali experience.
