Little Ripper Cafe

Kedungu, Bali

Completed, 2024

Little Ripper Café began as a small wooden café serving the Kedungu community: a simple, welcoming place where neighbours, families, and regular visitors gathered throughout the day. As the café grew, the owners wanted to expand its capacity while preserving the warm and familiar atmosphere that had made it a local favourite.

Located just moments from the beach, the project reimagines the café as a larger gathering space that remains deeply connected to its community, offering room for both everyday rituals and the growing energy of Kedungu.

our approach

Our approach was to retain the informal and friendly character of the original café while creating a more functional and generous space. Drawing on tropical architecture principles, we introduced open layouts, natural materials, and strong connections to the surrounding landscape to encourage airflow, natural light, and a relaxed atmosphere.

The result is a café that feels open and welcoming, where locals, surfers, families, and visitors can comfortably share the same space. By expanding carefully rather than reinventing, we aimed to preserve the spirit of Little Ripper while allowing it to evolve with the community around it.
